Learn more about the Adoption Process

All of our cats at the café are available for adoption through our rescue partner, A Chance For Love Rescue (ACFLR). If you are interested in adopting a cat, visit www.achanceforlove.org/adopt. Although we partner with the Rescue, we are separate business entities. The Rescue owns and adopts the cats; the Cat Café cares for the cats until they are adopted. Adoptions are done by the Rescue. The Cat Café does not get involved in the adoption application process. Since we are not involved in the application screening and decision making process, we are not able to provide information or updates about your application.

The ACFLR adoption process is detailed below:

• You will be asked to call your veterinarian and give permission for them to speak with a rescue.

• Should your application be considered after the veterinary and personal references, a virtual home visit will be scheduled.

• The adoption process could take up to 10 days - if you do not hear from a volunteer from the Rescue within this time frame, please understand they could not continue processing your application. This could be for a variety of reasons such as it did not meet their qualifications, or there may have been multiple applications for the cat you applied for. Their goal is to match their cats with people that are the best fit for them. Please understand that the Cat Café is not involved at all in the application process and cannot provide information or updates about your application status.

Adoption fees:

• Kittens (up to 11 months) - $250

• Kitten pairs - $475

• Adult cats (1 year-6 years) - $225

• Mature cats (7 years-10 years) - $200

• Seniors (11 years+) - $175

All our adoptable cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated against Rabies & Feline Distemper (RCCP), tested for FIV/FeLV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus & Feline Leukemia), microchipped, & fecal tested for parasites prior to adoption.

Please be advised that we do NOT adopt single kittens unless there is an age-appropriate cat already in the home or they are adopted with another one of our kittens or cats.

Kittens and cats that are bonded MUST be adopted together.

We only adopt to Connecticut residents. We are not able to facilitate out-of-state adoptions.
